Last weekend was beautiful. Great warm sunshine and good to be outside. Of course, I attended one of my favorite events of the year, the VNSA Book Sale at the State Fairgrounds. We found our way to the end of the line and waited to get in, but not first before I snapped a few funny pics of the people in line. I love to people watch and it was fun to see what everyone brought to carry their books in! You can check out the photos on my book club site www.meetup.com/Novel-Ideas-Book-Club. Interested in joining? Just click the button on the site! We are a fun group and enjoy books and laughing!
Dan and I ate at a great little Mexican food dive called Chico's Taco's at Thomas and 7th St. Great food. We ended up checking out a Used book store on the way home in Tempe called BookMaze. It is definitely a book maze and wasn't impressed with the selection, as I'd like to see at least a few current titles.
Being today is Valentine's Day, I will probably finish my romantic book, Letters From Home, by Kristina McMorris. Great book for a new author, and love reading Liz's letters to her soldier. It feels like you are reading someone else's mail!
I have had some medical problems lately as some of you know and made a trip to the oncologist yesterday. It was a shocking and exciting appointment, as the doctor feels I need no surgery and there is a 97% chance that I do not have cancer! WOW!
What a day. I am still stunned and am having a hard time wrapping my head around that since I have spent three months of stress and tests. All thinking was pointing to surgery. All the prayers, support and love have paid off and I thank the Lord for his blessings.

I'm Back!
Well, friends, I'm going to try this again. I have time on my hands and will journal my days here and practice writing. I've recently tried attending a workshop on writing children's books and have new ideas swimming around in my head. I've always read the books to children, so this is new for me. Who knows?
I've been working on some new bead projects and am currently working on one of Hannah Rosner's patterns called "Ruffles". (google her for a look!) The pattern will surely ruffle and takes time but I'm hoping it pays off for a very different kind of beaded bracelet. I'll post a picture of the start I've made.
Who's reading these days? You know if you would like to join a book club here in the east valley of Phoenix, just check out my book club page at www.meetup.com/Novel-Ideas-Book-Club/ A list of books we've been reading are listed and you'll find all info. on how to join our great group of ladies! I'm currently reading "Letter's from Home", by Kristina McMorris, about a young woman who writes a soldier she met at the USO club. Very romantic just in time for Valentine's Day! I plan to go to the Huge annual book sale at our State fairgrounds tomorrow for a load of cheap-o books. Last year I came away with a shopping cart of books for $30.00! Yes, of course, I have read them all!
The house is quiet now and I'm the only one up - eyes wide open and can't sleep lately due to headaches, vertigo and other fun stuff. I got new glasses this week and they are great for the computer, but I still don't care to do my beading in the evening-the lighting just isn't great, even with the special OTT lite. The bead holes are getting smaller as I am getting older. I still can thread my own needle, though ladies! Went into my wonderful bead room today (yes, a room all my own) and found my cat jumping down from my bead tray with all the beads stuck to her and flying through the air. It didn't make any difference to yell- the beads were not going to stop in mid flight. Neither was the cat. I chucked the idea of picking them up one by one and swept them away to bead heaven via the dust buster. Good bye my sweet beads... The only beads that I will never throw out are the bling crystal ones. Agree?
Leave some comments for me so I have new ideas to write about. (Hey, what did 'ya think of that Super Bowl?) P.S. Really, don't answer that- I hate football.

The First Posting, August 6, 2009
Welcome to my new Blogging Page! This is where I can post my classes, show beadwork & knitting or just plain rant & rave! I decided this is just as good as journaling and be therapeutic for me and hopefully semi-entertaining for you.
Today was cooler at 103 and do you believe we felt it? Dan and I were out and it actually felt cooler this evening. Pretty bad when we can tell the difference and still be at 103.
I finished knitting a baby sweater today for a friends baby. I just have to sew the pieces together. It was so fun working on something so tiny. It's been along time since I knitted for an infant or small child. I absolutely can't wait to have grandchildren. I have all my projects lined up for knitting and sewing outfits. The child will have to be changed several time a day to wear them all!
I teach one more Preschool class tomorrow and then the summer classes are done. I'll miss the little guys-they were very entertaining this summer. At least no one cries anymore and we can all stand in line together without pulling hair or touching eachother. These are big lessons in a preschoolers life! I on the other hand will not have a tiny hand with red paint on it wiped on my new slacks or playdough dug into the carpet. I will miss the hugs and little kisses, a tiny chubby hand in mine or the sweet "I love you Miss Kathi"! They fill my soul with happiness!
